Kisan Credit Card (KCC) is a short-term credit facility provided to farmers by banks to meet agricultural expenses. It works like a revolving credit account where farmers can withdraw money as needed during the crop season. The interest rate is as low as 4% per annum with timely repayment (subsidised by the government). KCC also covers animal husbandry and fisheries activities. It is available from all major nationalised banks, cooperative banks and regional rural banks.

👤 Eligibility Criteria
All farmers – individuals, joint borrowers, tenant farmers and sharecroppers – are eligible for KCC. Self-help groups (SHGs) and joint liability groups (JLGs) can also apply. The credit limit is based on the scale of finance for crops, post-harvest expenses and maintenance costs. The farmer must have a valid bank account. No collateral is required for KCC loans up to ₹1.60 lakh. Above that, land or other assets may be required as security.

- Visit your nearest bank branch (SBI, Bank of India, Cooperative Banks etc.)
- Ask for the Kisan Credit Card application form
- Fill in the form with land details, crop details and loan amount required
- Submit required documents including land records and Aadhaar
- You can also apply online at the PM Kisan portal (pmkisan.gov.in) for KCC linkage
- After verification, a KCC with a credit limit is issued
- Use the card at ATMs or bank counters to withdraw money as needed
