📋 Overview

A Ration Card is an official document issued by state governments that entitles families to buy food grains and other essential items at subsidised prices from Public Distribution System (PDS) shops. There are three main types: APL (Above Poverty Line), BPL (Below Poverty Line) and AAY (Antyodaya Anna Yojana – for the poorest). Under the National Food Security Act 2013, eligible households get rice and wheat at ₹2–3 per kg. One Nation One Ration Card scheme allows portability across states.

👤 Eligibility Criteria

Migrant workers can use their existing ration card in any state under ONORC scheme. No duplicate cards are issued for the same family.
