Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) is an affordable accidental insurance scheme launched by the Government of India. It provides ₹2 lakh insurance cover for accidental death or full disability and ₹1 lakh for partial disability at an annual premium of just ₹20. This makes it one of the most affordable insurance products available in India. The scheme is available to individuals aged 18 to 70 years with a bank account. Premium is auto-debited annually from your bank account.

👤 Eligibility Criteria
Any Indian citizen aged between 18 and 70 years with a savings bank account is eligible. The account must have auto-debit facility enabled. A person can have only one PMSBY account linked to one bank account. NRIs holding Indian bank accounts may also enrol but claims may be subject to additional verification. The annual renewal date is June 1 of every year and premium is auto-debited in late May.

- Enter nominee details and confirm the annual premium auto-debit of ₹20
- Alternatively, visit your nearest bank branch and fill the PMSBY enrolment form
- Ensure your account has at least ₹20 balance on auto-debit date (late May)
- You will receive a confirmation SMS from your bank
