📋 Overview

PM SVAMITVA (Survey of Villages Abadi and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas) Yojana gives property rights to residents of rural abadi areas. Before this scheme, many villagers lived in their homes for generations but had no official property documents. SVAMITVA uses drone technology to map residential land in villages and issue digital property cards called 'Adhikar Patra'. As of 2026, the scheme has covered lakhs of villages across India.

👤 Eligibility Criteria

Residents of rural areas who live in the abadi (residential) area of their village are eligible. The scheme specifically covers residential land – not agricultural land. Families who have been residing in the village but did not have official property papers are the primary beneficiaries. The scheme is implemented in phases by states in collaboration with the Survey of India.

🚀 How to Apply

4. After drone survey and verification, property cards are distributed at a ceremony
5. The property card can be downloaded from the SVAMITVA portal
6. Visit svamitva.nic.in to check status and download your Adhikar Patra
